Overview:
The Incredible Race Australia is an adventurous reality competition show that is modelled after the American television programme The Amazing Race. The show follows teams of two as they race around the world, adhering to the concept of previous Amazing Race iterations.
Every season is divided into legs, where teams must solve puzzles, find their way around in unfamiliar places, communicate with people, complete physical and mental tasks, and travel by vehicle, boat, taxi, airplane, and other means of transportation.
For being the last to reach their assigned Pit Stops at the end of most legs, teams are gradually eliminated. There is a grand prize of A$250,000 awarded to the first team to cross the finish line.
The Seven Network, who acquired the format rights to create an Australian version in 2010 and now holds the Australian broadcast rights to the American version as of 2023, hosted the show’s premiere.
