Death Sibusiso Khwinana
Khwinana and Tebatso Mashishi were waiting for a cab on March 1 outside the Sterland Mall in Steve Biko Streets, Arcadia, Pretoria. The murder suspect asked for Khwinana’s smartphone at 11 p.m. The guy then fatally stabbed them with a sharp weapon as they struggled for the telephone. Khwinana, a 25-year-old woman, passed away at the scene from several chest wounds.
On March 9, 2019, a funeral service for him was performed in Soshanguve. The three suspects who the police were able to link to the murder in March 2019 eventually denied their involvement. Police conducted face recognition tests later in July 2019 to compare the suspects to the person in the CCTV footage. [2]

After joining the South African State Theatre, he began his career with numerous theater productions. He attended an audition to join the State Theatre’s Youth in Trust (YIT) program after graduating. Then he spent two years at YIT studying theater. The “Independent Theatres Makers Movement,” which was started to aid in the funding of theatrical productions, included him as a founder member.
Furthermore, in 2013, he founded and took on the role of artistic director at “Blank Page Entertainment,” a theater-related nonprofit. In 2016, he used theater to write and direct the stage piece Amend. Which dealt with homophobia and corrective rape in lesbians. [3]

On March 13 and 14, 2019, a special half-price screening of the movie Matwetwe was organized in honor of the actor. The South African State Theatre renamed “Momentum Theatre,” one of the six theaters housed in the State Theatre complex, “Sibusiso Khwinana Theatre” in honor of Khwinana in June 2019.
