About the Show:

The Great Canadian Baking Show is a Canadian cooking competition show that debuted on CBC Television on November 1, 2017. For the first two seasons, the show was hosted by Dan Levy and Julia Chan.

Bruno Feldeisen, a Canadian cook who was born in France, and Rochelle Adonis, a Canadian pastry chef who was born in Australia, were the judges. Aurora Browne and Carolyn Taylor were the hosts for the third season

From the fourth season on, it was led by Ann Pornel and Alan Shane Lewis, both of whom had been in Second City. In the season finale of The Great Canadian Baking Show, the last three bakers fight to be named the winner and take home the GCBS cake stand.The Great Canadian Baking Show Season 9 Host:

Alan Shane Lewis:

Alan Shane Lewis is a comedian, actress, and TV host from Canada. Since season 4, he has co-hosted The Great Canadian Baking Show with Ann Pornel.

He has also been in the TV show Christian & Nat and the short film Duppy. He has also been in episodes of Roast Battle Canada.

Lewis and Pornel were nominated for the 10th Canadian Screen Awards in 2022 for The Great Canadian Baking Show. They were nominated for Best Host or Presenter in a Factual or Reality/Competition Series.

Ann Pornel:

Ann Pornel is a sketch artist, actor, and TV host from Canada. She lives in Toronto. Pornel was born in the Philippines. When she was a child, she moved to Canada with her family. She grew up in Toronto’s High Park neighborhood.

Lewis and Pornel were nominated for the 10th Canadian Screen Awards in 2022 for The Great Canadian Baking Show. They were nominated for Best Host or Presenter in a Factual or Reality/Competition Series. She was nominated for and won one of Canada’s Top 25 Immigrant Awards in 2023.

The Great Canadian Baking Show Season 9 Entry Criteria:

Applications have to be willing and legally able to travel within Canada at the times and to the places that the Producer chooses.

  •  Applicants must be at least nineteen (19) years old.
  •  Participants have to be a Canadian citizen or a person who lives in Canada permanently.
  • Participants have to be in good health and be able to handle the mental and physical challenges of the Programme.
  • Participants don’t work as skilled chefs or pastry chefs at the moment.
  • Everyone who wants to be on The Great Canadian Baking Show must be a beginner, so if you have experience in the kitchen that the Producer thinks could give you an unfair edge, you can’t be on the show.
  • Participants must be ready and able to commit to all of the filming days.
  • Participants know that the shooting is supposed to happen between May and July 2025, for about thirty (30) days.

Bruno Feldeisen:

Bruno Feldeisen was born in Clermont-Ferrand, a small town in France. He started as an apprentice at Les Palets d’Or, a famous chocolate shop in Moulins, France. He almost got a perfect grade at the end of his internship.

Feldeisen has been nominated twice for the James Beard Award for Outstanding Pastry Chef and was named one of the Top 10 Pastry Chefs in America by Chocolatier Magazine for two years in a row.

The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Gourmet Magazine, Bon Appetit Magazine, and New York Magazine have all published some of his tasty articles.

Kyla Kennaley:

Kyla Kennaley, who is a pastry cook, won her first award for baking when she was six years old in her hometown of Omemee, Ontario. She joined a Robin Hood Pie Baking Contest and won a red ribbon and a Robin Hood Flour Baking Cookbook, which is her favorite thing.

Kyla finished her bachelor’s degree at the University of Ottawa by getting a diploma in food management from Algonquin College.

After she graduated at the top of her class and made the Dean’s List, she focused on improving her baking skills by going to Europe and working on her craft there.

Kyla went to London, U.K. in 2019 to work as the talent development manager for the food and beverage team at the historic Savoy Hotel. She now trains trainees for the Royal family and London’s five-star hotels.

Kyla is a guest teacher at Toronto, Ontario’s George Brown College Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts.

  • Interested applicants can fill out the complete application form as per the given fields.
  • Fill out the all details such as name, date of birth, contact number, email ID, and other details.
  • Answers all mandatory questions in the application form.
  • Help put a face to the baking, please upload a photo of yourself here
  • Uploads the 2-3 photographs of the baking style.
  • Upload a video of yourself in which you say who you are and why you want to be on The Great Canadian Baking Show.
  • Take your full time to fill out the complete application form.
  • Approx. there are 60+ questions in the application form.

Bakers are asked to bring their most famous baked goods to the event for a morning of baking show fun, visits from alumni, and tasting, and to compete for a spot on The Great Canadian Baking Show this summer.
