Overview:

Based on the global Big Brother model developed by John de Mol, Big Brother Australia (often referred to as Big Brother) is an Australian reality show.

Endemol Shine Australia developed the series, which was picked up by the Seven Network in 2019. Produced by Endemol Australia and Endemol Southern Star were the eleven prior seasons. In 2020, the twelfth season premiered. In June 2020, the show received a 13th-season renewal.

Big Brother 2025-2026 Australia Eligibility:

To Apply for the new season candidates must follow the below given steps. Selected applicants will be called for the next process. An incomplete application will be rejected by the authority.

• To participate in the show, a person must be at least 18 years old.
• Australian nationality is required for participation, and evidence of nationality is required.
• There is no communication between participants and the outside world.
• The roommates should always wear personal mics because they are being filmed nonstop.
• Any housemate who disobeys the regulations could be asked to leave the residence.
• It is forbidden for housemates to use violence, threats, or intimidation against one another.

Big Brother 2025-2026 Australia Format :

Nominations:

Each week, the Housemates took part in a voting procedure called nominations to choose who would be put forward for eviction that particular week.

In the Diary Room, each housemate proposed to two other housemates, giving Big Brother complete justifications for their choices. Australia’s vote was cast for the three or more housemates who had the most nominations.

Eviction:

Except for the nominating housemate, who will only cast a tie-breaker vote if necessary, all housemates must vote on eviction night to remove one of the candidates; if there are only two nominations, the nominated housemates do not cast votes because their votes cancel each other out.

Housemates cast their votes for eviction in private, giving Big Brother an oral vote in the Diary Room. Each vote must have a justification. The House expels the nominee who receives the most votes.

Finale:

Australia’s vote will decide the winner among the remaining three housemates. Voters cast their ballots on a specific website to determine the winner, and Big Brother is awarded to the contestant who receives the most votes.

Sonia Melissa Kruger is an actress, television presenter, and media personality who has won an Australian Gold Logie Award. She has been well-known in the industry for more than 20 years.

Kruger is a presenter on The Voice Australia and the host of Big Brother Australia. Along with co-hosting the well-liked Australian version of Dancing with the Stars, Kruger is most remembered for playing Tina Sparkle in the eerie 1992 movie Strictly Ballroom.

She has also co-hosted the breakfast show Today Extra. Kruger has covered a wide range of events while working for Seven Network, including coverage of the Australian Open, Melbourne Cup, and Olympics.

She received the Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Australian Television Personality in 2023. Throughout her career, she has faced criticism on multiple occasions for remarks she made on Muslims and immigrants.
