In Lesotho, Liopelo Maphate was born in 1982. Born and raised in Lesotho, Liopelo is a performing arts graduate of the University of the Orange Free State. The seSotho drama series Sergeant Kokobela immediately cast her in a key part once she relocated to Johannesburg.[1]
Career of Liopelo Maphate
She received the lead role of Luyanda in the now-defunct youth soap opera Backstage in 2000. She has also appeared in episodes of Muvhango, Crossroads, Gaz’lam, Jozi Streets, Scandal!, and Madam & Eve on television. In the short film Afrikano, she additionally portrayed the character of The Bride.
She started working as an insert presenter for the SABC2 music program Afro Café in September 2008. On the SABC2 sitcom Moferefere Lenyalong, she starred as Lesego Matlakala, a stylist, fashionista, and Sugel, from 2008 until 2012. [2]
