Early life and education

Radebe was one of 11 children born to Emily and Johannes Radebe in the Diepkloof neighbourhood of Soweto, close to Johannesburg. Up till the age of 15, he was a student in the neighbourhood Bopasenatla Secondary School. In order to protect him from the dangerous Diepkloof Zone Four community in Soweto, his parents sent him to one of the former homelands in Grade 10, Bophuthatswana. Near Zeerust, he attended Ngotwane High School. [1]

Kaizer Chiefs

Patrick Ntsoelengoe noticed him while he was playing for amateur team ICL Birds in the now-defunct Bophuthatswana Soccer League, and in 1989 he signed him to one of South Africa’s premier teams, the Kaizer Chiefs.
