American Idol 2025-2026 Audition Show Details:

  • Simon Fuller invented the American singing competition television series American Idol, which is distributed by Fremantle North America and produced by 19 Entertainment and Fremantle North America.
  • It ran for 15 seasons on Fox from June 11, 2002, to April 7, 2016. After going on vacation for two years, the series returned to ABC on March 11, 2018.
  • It began as a Pop Idol-inspired British television add-on to the Idols model and went on to become one of the most popular shows in American television history.
  • The show’s premise is to find recording stars among unsigned vocalists, and American viewers will use phones, the Internet, and SMS text voting to choose the winner.

 

Requirements for Eligibility to American Idol 2025-2026:

  • To apply for the American Idol 2024 Audition, you must be at least 15 years old and no older than 28.
  • A legitimate proof of U.S. residency is required for the contestant.
  • For the show, the contestant needs to be in good physical and mental health.
  • By the semifinal stage (or, in prior years, the audition stages), the contestant should not have been under contract for a recording or talent show.

Lionel Richie:

American singer-songwriter, record producer, television personality, and father of Lionel Brockman Richie Jr. was born on June 20, 1949. He gained popularity in the 1970s as a songwriter and co-lead vocalist for the Motown group Commodores.

Before leaving the group, he wrote and sang the smash singles “Easy,” “Sail On,” “Three Times a Lady,” and “Still.” He composed and produced “Lady,” Kenny Rogers’ US Billboard Hot 100 number one record in 1980.

Richie took a hiatus from recording between 1986 and 1996; he has subsequently put out seven studio albums. Beginning with the sixteenth season of the singing competition American Idol (2018), he became a judge on the show.
